Inat Theory had a logo and two bare social pages. This is what we rebuilt, what is settled, and what is not.
Before this rebuild, Inat Theory had a logo, an Instagram page and a LinkedIn page. All three were bare. The first game began as a tabletop game, and the public side of the studio stayed at that stage while the work moved on.
The name stayed. Everything else changed.
The mark. The old one was the letters i and t drawn as a small figure at a desk. The new one is a box with torn, chipped edges and the i and t cut out of it. The letters have no colour of their own: whatever sits behind the box shows through them. All the wear is in the box, and the letters stay solid.
The colours. Two. Off White (#FAF9F6) is the ground and the light version of the mark. Slate (#0F172A) is the box, the text and the dark areas. We tried pure white and a plain near-black first and moved off both. There is no accent colour.
The paintings. Four images of a ruined, overgrown world: a dam, a bridge, a morning after, and a set of towers. They carry the look of the site, and they are cut on a slant into four equal slices for the top of the home page.
The website. inattheory.com has been ours since last year. This is the first time it has something on it.
What is decided: the name, the mark, the two colours, the four paintings and the layout of the site.
What is still open: how worn the box should be, since the level of damage is not final. A second, aged version of the mark, for later. The trademark, which is handled when the studio is registered. And when the first game gets shown. There is no date.
What this devlog is. One short note a month on how the studio works: tools, decisions, mistakes, what we changed our minds about. Not the game. The game gets its own series when it is shown.
